Welcome to Room 15

Welcome to Room 15!

My name is Amanda Grier and this is my seventh year teaching Kindergarten at Hartman.  I love teaching Kindergarten and seeing the changes in growth, progress, and development each kiddo makes by the end of the year!  It is truly amazing and extremely rewarding!

After the school days are over, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My husband and I have 2 year old twins, Hudson and Hadley, and Henley, who just turned one.  They keep us very entertained and busy, but we wouldn't change it for the world!

I also enjoy being outdoors, camping, playing golf, gardening, and running around with our dog Roxy!

Here are just a few of the things your child will learn this year:

  • 75 or more Sight Words (words they will be able to read just by looking at it without needing to sound it out)
  • How to read or learn strategies to become a better reader
  • Math: Colors and Color Words, Numbers, Shapes, Addition, Subtraction, Telling Time by the Hour
  • Science: Physical, Life, & Earth Science
  • Social Studies: Geography, Government

Classroom Supplies List for 2017-2018:

  • Snacks to share with about 25 students (goldfish crackers, graham crackers, box of cereal, fruit snacks, apples or apple slices, mini carrots, etc... we prefer to keep it on the healthy side)
  • package of coffee filters to use for snack cups
  • EXPO dry-erase markers
  • Small blanket or towel for rest time
  • Glue sticks
  • Coffee filters
  • A pair of old tennis shoes to keep in their locker for P.E.
  • Kleenex
  • Clorox or Lysol wipes
  • Ziploc bags (snack, quart, and gallon size)
  • Binder rings (any size)
  • Shaving cream (this is our favorite table play/cleaner)

There is no need to write their names on any of the supplies, as we share all supplies as a class community

We have a busy, but fun, year ahead of us, so get ready to jump right in.  Our door is always open, so please feel free to come in and observe any time.  If you need to contact me, you can call me at (402) 572-1966, email me at, or send a note in your child's home-to-school daily folder.  Thank you for sharing your child with me!
